Kilcunda Lobster Festival

                                       CANCELLED 2022
                                                                   We tried!
We are desperately sorry to announce that despite all our best endeavours we have to again cancel the 2022 Lobster Festival.
With COVID running through our community the KCA has taken this decision primarily to ensure we keep our own community members & volunteers safe and to make sure we do not expose our community to a significant financial risk. We are a small community and the Festival is our major fundraiser but exposes us to great risks which in normal years we are OK with but we live in anything but normal times! The virus is running through our area at a rapid rate and we fear we may not be able to have sufficient volunteers who aren’t infected or isolating to actually put on the event to make it the event we all know and love.

So, we expect to be back in 2023 even stronger as this is our community tradition and it will continue!

The lobster festival is our annual fundraising event, held on the Kilcunda foreshore area. The 2020 event was a great success with around 5000 people enjoying the festival throughout the course of the day. Sadly we had to cancel the 2021 & 2022 event but check out the festival photos on our Gallery page from earlier events.

The next festival will likely be held on
       Sunday 29th JANUARY 2023 10am - 3pm but date is TBC

One of the main attractions is the lobster spinning wheel. The spinning wheel generally runs between 10 am and 3 pm, with a spin occurring about every five minutes. The prize for each of the lucky ticket holders is a huge freshly cooked lobster.

We will be downsizing the 2022 festival to ensure it is COVID Compliant so watch this space and the Lobster Festival Facebook page for updates as to what will be happening.

Food and drink will be available, including lobster lunches, and music all day.

This is a dog friendly event but dogs MUST BE FRIENDLY, be on leads and kept under control at all times and a poop pick up event!

The lobster festival is a great community event and you are certain to have a good time.

The 2023 Expression of Interest form for stall holders will be made available later this year. The 2022 Festival is below for information only. The form will again be able to be completed online and then emailed direct. It has a drop down menu for stall sizes including prices and tick boxes that must be completed to acknowledge all T&C's including COVID Requirements. We are also asking you to upload photos of your products or stalls into the spaces provided on the forms.

If you are interested in applying for a stall please ensure you read the Expression of Interest form PLUS the Terms & Conditions PLUS COVID 19 Compliance requirements prior to applying. Please also note submitting an Expression of Interest does not automatically guarantee a space.

The 2023 Lobster Festival will continue to be a Single Use Plastic Free event and we are asking vendors to move away from plastic containers of any kind as per Clause 1 of the Terms & Conditions. We are happy to work with vendors in assisting them to move to biodegradable or compostable containers so don’t hesitate to ask us for assistance. Please also be aware of the State Government new plastic ban rules that came into effect in 2019 will be applied to the 2023 Lobster Festival. The information can be found at https://vicbagban.com.au

There will again be a serious focus on Waste Management in 2023 and vendors are a large part of this process so we are looking for Stall holders that share our values in this area so please tell us what you are doing that can assist.

If you wish to apply for this insurance, you need to complete the form, make the payment to Council, and then include a copy of your form and your receipt with your stall application.
